Five Weeks in a Balloon is a novel by Jules Verne. It was published on 31 January 1863.

The book tells the story of three British adventurers, as they went on a journey across Africa in a hydrogen-filled balloon. Their journey started in Zanzibar on the east coast and ended in Senegal on the west coast.

The novel was full of adventures as the three men traveled across the continent and explored it.

The book is written during the time of the 19th century’s scientific advancements and the thirst for discovery. Verne’s clever use of technology and exploration captured the imaginations of his readers.
